Enzo
Golden Retriever
Introducing, Mister Enzo Viola, the black-splotched Golden. Before meeting Enzo, I had never heard of such a thing. The splotch’s scientific name is a Pigmented Somatic Cell Mutation and is similar to a human birthmark.
As enamored as I was by the rare trait (only 1 in 900,000 have them), I truly found myself forgetting it was there by the end of our time together. The rarity of his markings was overshadowed by the rarity of his goodness. Enzo was the epitome of a “good dog” and blew me away with his kind presence, happy spirit and soft love.
