North American Porcupine

Name:  Slow Poke

Photographer Notes:    Slow poke moved very slow (you saw that coming?) which is good when trying to create an interesting portrait.  But, he was very small and his head so close to the ground that we had to raise Slow Poke up so I could get on his eye level.  We ended up having him on a couple risers 4 feet off the ground, which allowed me to get the camera on his eye level.  From there it was all about trying to create a portrait that showed off the symmetry, his face, form, and texture. I loved how his quills framed that mug.
